Biography
I was born and grew up in Brighton, England. In 2007, I moved to West Wales with my partner, musician and performer Sputnik Weazel. Captivated by the people and the landscape, we have made this beautiful place our home.
I hold a degree in Fine Art Sculpture, and my artistic practice began as sculptural, though never tied to a single medium. In recent years, my work has shifted toward painting and collage. While the materials I use continue to evolve, one constant in my practice is my fascination with the function of myth and fairy tales.
The fairy stories we are told as children shape the stories we tell ourselves about who we are, influencing how we interpret the world—both collectively and individually. In essence, we create our own personal mythologies, and it is this rich and fertile territory that I explore through my work.
Casting was fundamental to my early practice. The idea that one material can be transformed into another—altering both its materiality and its meaning—continues to inspire and excite me. My work is driven by an ongoing investigation into the cultural and mythological significance we attach to the objects that form the fabric of our world. This exploration is deeply rooted in my background in Social Anthropology, which I studied in my early twenties. That experience sparked a lifelong fascination with the subject of meaning-making.
